Maruva

In development · closed beta planned

One taste profile.
Coffee, tea and matcha.

Maruva learns what you actually like — not which category you shop in — and turns it into what to buy next and how to prepare it.

One profile, three drinks

Most drink apps stop at one category and treat the other two as a different hobby. Maruva treats sweetness, acidity, body, bitterness and aroma as one set of axes, so preferences learned over a filter coffee carry into a first sencha.

  • Sweetness
  • Acidity
  • Body
  • Bitterness
  • Aroma

The axes a profile is built on. The flavour vocabulary underneath is shared across all three domains — sweet, caramel, floral, chocolate, citrus, nuts, vegetal, creamy, berry, roasted, coconut, herbal, woody, tart — and it is what the recommendations actually match on.

  • A taste profile, built in minutes

A short quiz sets the starting point; every rating you log afterwards moves it. One profile across all three drinks, not three separate ones.

  • A catalogue with real specifications

Variety, processing method, altitude, harvest, tea type, infusion colour, matcha grade — from the merchants themselves, alongside price and stock.

  • Brewing guides and timers

34 guides across 26 methods, with grind, dose, ratio, water temperature and per-step timing, adjusted to the equipment you own.

  • A diary

What you drank, how you made it, what you thought. The record the recommendations learn from, and the one that tells you which bag to reorder.

  • An assistant

Questions answered against your own profile, your diary and the catalogue — in English or Ukrainian — instead of against the open web.

  • Cafés near you

4,000+ places across Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa and 17 more Ukrainian cities, on a map, with ratings.

  • Scan a bag

Photograph a label and get the product back with its specifications, or add it to the catalogue if it is new.

  • Challenges

Streaks and goals for people who want them — a new origin, a new method, a new country — and nothing for those who do not.

How it works

  1. Let the app be your personal assistant. Tell it what you like — roast, flavours, how you brew, sweetness, caffeine — and it works from your taste, not from a category.
  2. Get a shortlist, not a shop. Products ranked against your profile, each with the specifications behind the ranking and where to buy it.
  3. Brew it and log it. Follow the guide for your equipment, rate the cup, and the next shortlist is better.

Status

Maruva is in active development. The catalogue, the café map and the brewing guides above are live data from the running service; a closed beta on iOS and Android is planned. There is no public release yet, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell. Use of the service, when it opens, is governed by our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.

Ukraine first. English and Ukrainian throughout.
